The Virgin Mary, often referred to by her real name Mary but also as the Virgin Mary or Madonna, Mother of God, Mother of our Lord, came from Nazareth in Galilee and according to the New Testament is the mother of Jesus Christ. The Virgin Mary holds a special place in Christian teaching and faith, while she is also a respected person in Islam. Jesus Christ or Christ, often referred to as Jesus of Nazareth, is the founder of the Christian religion.
